Sneh, Mosheh (Kleinbaum, Mosheh)

(1909-72)

   Israeli politician. He was born in Radzyn, Poland. He joined the General Zionists in 1935. After the outbreak of World War II, he fled from Warsaw to Vilna, and then to Palestine. From 1941 he served as chief of the national command of the Haganah. He became a member of the executive of the Jewish Agency in 1945, but later resigned and joined the Mapam party. Eventually he established the Socialist Left Party (1953), which later joined the Israeli communist party (Maki). He was editor of the communist newspaper Kol ha-Am and wrote Conclusions on the Jewish Problem in the Light of Marxism.
